Shortlisted Proposals

Launched on January 21st of this year, the 2013 India DM focused on the three low-income states of Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Madhya Pradesh. The call for proposal invited all social sector organizations (for-profit and non-profit entities) seeking to scale projects in these states, to apply for the grant. Over 190 project proposals have been received from across India in response to the call for proposal, within the stipulated timeline of 30 days, while the call was open.

The proposals have undergone a rigorous three tier assessment process and 30 proposals have now been shortlisted for the next stage of due diligence and capacity building needs assessment. A DM team comprising of two members will visit each of the 30 shortlisted Projects for an on-site assessment, within the next two weeks. The shortlisted proposals will be intimated about the same via emails.

    Basically a start-up needs to use the grant for the costs of capacity building of community, mobilization etc. Then there is the technical, research and development cost for doing the innovation part. The third necessity is providing the market linkage to the producer groups. These are the 3 core things that social entrepreneurs [look for] and for these, funds are not available. This will be the greatest benefit of the DM.
